What is Glory Bound Ministry?

Glory Bound Ministry is a nonprofit located in Wakiso District, Uganda. The ministry's main focus is Glory Bound Vocational School, a nationally accredited trade school where local women learn sustainable trades and crafts which empower them to earn money, support their families, and even start their own businesses. Glory Bound also runs a retail shop and a farm, which bring in revenue to help support the ministry.

At Glory Bound, we are committed to using local resources and crafting products that embody local Ugandan culture. This not only keeps our projects sustainable, but also strengthens the local economy.

Glory Bound Vocational School received accreditation from Uganda's Board of Industrial Education in January 2023. The first class of accredited students graduated in July 2023, and every single one passed the government board exam for tailoring. These women are now nationally certified tailors with many opportunities to use their skills. We continue to cooperate with the Board of Education in order to provide high-quality training and opportunities to our present and future students.

Where does our support
come from?

Our ministry was started by generous donor support, as well as the sacrificial investments of

our founders. While we are constantly taking steps toward financial independence, Glory Bound is a young organization with many current needs, and we are deeply grateful for the continued support of our donors. Along with funding training for the students (who attend the school on a "pay what you can" basis), your gifts also allow us to develop our sources of revenue, bringing us closer to our goal of being 100% self-sustained.

What steps are we taking towards financial independence?

We have established 2 main sources of revenue: a retail shop and 10 acres of farmland. All revenue from these businesses goes straight towards supporting Glory Bound Ministry and its full-time director in Wakiso.

The retail shop sells African print fabrics and sewing supplies, as well as many of the crafts and clothing items made by the students. A former Glory Bound student is employed full-time at the shop.

The farmland is in need of significant development. It is currently covered with corn, but we are looking to install fencing, animal shelters, and housing for tenant farmers so that we can raise and sell animals. The development of the farmland is one of our most pressing needs, as the success of the farm will be a huge step towards financial independence.
